Jack Daniel's Music Scout

Three musical legends that have followed their own authentic path to success have partnered with Jack Daniel’s to become the official Jack Daniel’s Music Scouts. T-BO Touch, DJ Vinny Da Vinci and Mandla ‘Spikiri’ Mofokeng have announced the launch of their search for authentic South African talent.
Whether unsigned musicians, vocalists or DJs, the countrywide search is open to anyone with musical flair. Entrants will be given a valuable platform to demonstrate their skill, including gigs where they will perform to begin securing their own fan-base and impress the Jack Daniel’s Music Scouts.

Representing a broad range of music genres, T-BO Touch, DJ Vinny Da Vinci and ‘Spikiri’ know what true talent feels like. They are widely regarded as respected authorities in their chosen styles and have followed their own path to success, much like Jack did.

Jack Daniel’s and music share a long history, with Jack himself having begun one of the oldest recorded music sponsorships in the 1860s – of the Silver Cornet band.

Jack’s whiskey would become the unofficial whiskey of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. Rock ‘n’ roll would take over the mantle in the ‘60s and some have said the history of music is dripping with Jack Daniel’s. It’s been onstage, backstage, in the studios, on the tour bus and in the hands of legends.

With the help of the legendary T-BO, Mandla ‘Spikiri’ Mofokeng and Vinny Da Vinci, we’d like to continue Jack’s love affair with music by helping showcase up-and-coming artists creating their own authentic sounds.
Entrants can visit the official site from a mobile device to enter. You can follow the progress on Facebook, or the hashtag #Jackscouts.

Just in case it wasn’t exciting enough, the winning artists, as selected by the JD Music Scouts, in addition to receiving exposure through the campaign, will win a trip to the US to discover the history of hip hop and house music.

Support Acts for R Kelly announced

A host of well-known and respected supporting acts for the South African leg of R&B legend R Kelly’s ‘Single Ladies Tour’ have been announced, making the two shows amongst the most anticipated stadium gigs to hit South African shores.

Johannesburg: Lira, Mi Casa, Khuli Chana, DJ Euphonik and DJ Cndo.

Durban: Lira, Mi Casa, Khuli Chana, DJ Lulo Cafe and DJ Cndo.

The tour kicks off on Thursday 8 August 2013 at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg and on Saturday 10 August 2013 at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Tickets are available through Computicket.

In an era of declining songwriting skills and auto tune crooning R. Kelly embodies the best traditions of American music as a vocalist, songwriter and producer. He uses classic materials to create music as contemporary as Siri’s iPhone voice. Despite selling millions of recordings and writing classic songs for himself and many others, this Chicago based singer-songwriter continues to push his art forward with Write Me Back, a dynamic twelve song collection that is part of his extraordinary 2012 — The Year of theR.

Along with his remarkable new album, R. Kelly is publishing his first memoir, Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me, and signed with the IFC Channel to add chapters to his innovative hip hop opera Trapped in the Closet, which was an early 21st century cultural phenomenon.

Write Me Back continues the homage to classic soul/R&B that distinguished 2010’s critically acclaimed Love Letter. But where that album celebrates the music of the ‘50s and ‘60s, this has a wider collection of musical inspirations, going to sounds that echo Ray Charles, while evoking the passionate magic of Teddy Pendergrass, Barry White and Michael Jackson among many others. The content and the title of this new recording were definitely inspired by the triumph of the previous album.

The songs on Write Me Back do not simply pay homage to older styles, but evoke a myriad of influences at the same time and in the process create something pleasing and new. “I have many directions I still wanna go in musically,” he says of where he is creatively. “This just happened to be a direction I choose for now because the first album did so well people started asking me if I was gonna be doing any other songs like that.. Through those questions I found a second wind of inspiration in the area of doing the classic R&B type of songs.”

The tasty array of musical influences R. Kelly transforms and reinvents ranges through the history of classic soul. “Love Is,” “Share My Love” and “Lady Sunday” evoke the lush, danceable sound of Philadelphia. “Feeling Single” and “Believe That It’s So” effortlessly mash up echoes of Bill Withers and Stevie Wonder. “All Rounds On Me” has a blues feel that Ray Charles would envy, while “Fool For You” has that classic Motown Sound. “Green Light” will make fans of the Isley Brothers happy, while “Party Jumpin’” captures the seriously fun late night spirit of a live Sam Cooke show. Both “When A Man Lies” and “Believe In Me” are powerhouse songs poised to join the canon of R. Kelly standards.

In an era where hip hop has overshadowed R&B as mainstream music R. Kelly has reinforced his credentials as “the R in R&B.” He speaks candidly about the state of that venerable music culture and his role as a keeper of the flame. “I don’t mean to sound bold but I speak the truth, especially when I speak about R&B music,” he says humbly. “R&B has, in some ways been abandoned and it’s being used in areas when people see fit to maybe put a hook on a rap song to blow up a rap song. Now, I don’t knock that hustle, but if we’re gonna respect R&B when it comes to rap, then it deserves to stand on its own as well.”

Alongside his new album, R. Kelly explores yet another outlet for his creative hand with the release of his memoir Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me published by SmileyBooks, an imprint owned by noted broadcaster and publisher Tavis Smiley. R’s first book has allowed the singer-songwriter to define himself and dig deep into his life story.

“When you become a celebrity and a legend in the field that you’re in, everybody thinks they know you and people form opinions about you without really knowing who you are,” he observes. “Nobody really knows you until they know the things you’ve been through. The only way to do that was to tell my story. In life there are two sides to every story, but unfortunately in my case there are about forty different sides to the story.”

The singer makes a big distinction between R. Kelly the star and Robert Kelly the human being. “They already know who R. Kelly is. They know R. Kelly performs and they know he’s written and produced hit songs for himself and other people. But I felt it was time they met Robert, the mama’s boy, Robert the brother, Robert the father and most of all Robert the person.”
Between Write Me Back and Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me, the stage has been set for the expression of new and unexpected dimensions of R.Kelly’s intimate, compelling, and soul-filled artistry.

Nicki Minaj Files Restraining Order on DJ Khaled

As if this story couldn’t get any more bizarre, just one day after DJ Khaled embarrassed himself by broadcasting a wedding proposal to Nicki Minaj, the Young Money super star has responded by reportedly filing a restraining order in the state of New York, where she resides. According to Reports, this isn’t the first time Khaled has professed his infatuation with Nicki, the DJ has allegedly sent Nicki flowers in the past, as well as random packages, and constantly shows up to her concerts all across the country, according to the report.

But with all the random stuff that comes from YMCMB, we wouldn’t be surprised if this was some sort of publicity stunt from both sides.

Nicki has yet to come out to respond to the awkward video or restraining order publicly.

No more Clash of the Choirs for Bonang

MUSIC show Clash of the Choirs was a BIG hit in its first season. But its second season on Mzansi Magic will be minus Bonang “Queen B” Matheba. Sunday Sun has learnt that her contract has not been renewed – and Bonang has been dumped by the producers.

An insider said: “The show will soon return to our screens, but Bonang won’t be hosting it. “They approached Pabi Moloi, and she turned the offer down. She’s on Strictly Come Dancing and it would’ve been a conflict of interest if she’d said yes.”

Sunday Sun can reveal that Minnie Dlamini was also in the running – but she’s still in talks with the producers. Another insider told the People’s Paper: “Bonang was so difficult that her managers didn’t know what to do any more. She would complain about a lot of things. If it wasn’t make-up, it was the lighting, the camera . . . the list was endless!

“Mzansi Magic bosses even wanted to fire Bonang mid-season because she was such a diva, and very fussy. Her manager literally begged them to keep her on board, and promised that she would clean up her act.”

This week Mzansi Magic publicist Bongi Potelwa said: “We had an incredible response to the first season of Clash of the Choirs SA. Once all internal communication has been concluded, we will make an announcement.”

When the SunTeam asked Bonang about the choir show, she declined to comment. – Sunday Sun

Letter to Minenhle

A letter was trending on my Twitter Timeline and as the 'investigative' person I am, I decided to check it out and I was shocked. It was sent to the TMZ of Mzansi, Just curious by a friend of a friend or whatsoever. The deatils contained by the letter are shocking and really bothering. Poor Minenhle, not long ago she had a letter addressed to her by Karabo  and now she had to go through thid. Anyway read the letter:
Dear Minenhle
Please note that I have nothing against you and I am not writing this letter to hurt you or to spite you. I couldn’t think of a better way to reach you. Let me get straight to the point.
When I heard the rumours that you were dating Itumeleng I considered the news as nothing but rumours. Until not long after that when the ”mineleng“ brake up made headlines on every newspaper in S.A. I then felt the need to confront Itumeleng about you, him, boity , samkelo and the girl who posted photos of herself inside a car that had the exact same interior as Itumelengs and she was boasting about their relationship. He denied all the accusations and honestly I believed him over rumours because he has never given me a reason not to trust him or to even suspect that he was cheating on me. Two weeks down the line I missed my periods and I informed him I missed my periods. We were both overwhelmed about this because it was unplanned. immediately we concluded I was pregnant and he told me if I am he will not force me to have the child if I do not want ‘IT’ and if I decide to have the child he will respect my decision and he will take full responsibility for his child even thou this will destroy his career to some level. He told me this couldn’t have happened at a bad time, now everyone is going to believe that he is a cheating heartless bustard that the media portrays him to be. More people will lose respect for him and more people will hate him and this will mean more scandal and his name all over S.A media and this might cause a huge dent to his career forever. I understood where he was coming from and I really empathised with him because I know how this industry can be cruel and didn’t want to ruin his career that he has worked so hard for and mostly because I love him and we were both happy when I took a pregnancy test and it was negative simply because we were not ready and we want to do things the right way.
After this life went on we grew even stronger, until the 19th of June 2013 when one of my friends munched your update on instagram about you going to BRAZIL and another one from Facebook I am not on any social network, I don’t pay attention to rumours, I am one person who strongly believe that at the end the truth always has its way of coming out no matter what. Your updates on both the social Medias raised my eyebrows I must say.
I knew ITU was going to BRAZIL but I had no idea he was going with you. I was told another story that I was stupid enough to believe. Like I said Itumeleng has never given me a reason to believe any of the rumours, I have access to his place whenever I want too and had never been there and found anything that might raise my suspicions, ooh besides some leopard printed gown I found in his wardrobe which I did not even crack my head about it because I asked him about it and he told me some story that I believed but now I know the gown belong to you if not, I guess to one of his varsity or Soweto girls that I always hear stories about him and them or one of the girls who sometimes call me and tell me izindaba zami and how he is their man blah blah blah.
When Itu came back from Brazil I confronted him about you and the whole BRAZIL story, our man I am sure you know him with his short temper or maybe his a different Itu to you. He told me he will not entertain such rumours and blah blah blah for the first time I stood my ground and informed him that if he walks away before we resolve this he must know there is no coming back it’s over. That shook him a bit.
At that time I believed it was because he loved me and he didn’t want to lose me but now I know that was bull it was all for his own interests. His explanation was that he was not completely honest with me when I asked him about you.
He told me he cheated on me with you but came to his senses and realised it was wrong, it was selfish, it had no meaning and that is why you guys broke up, until you surprised him with two tickets to BRAZIL for his birthday. You have told everyone you the two of you are going to BRAZIL he couldn’t embarrass you and honestly he was not thinking straight he just got into that plain without thinking, especially because he was away for a long time and while he was away I was busy accusing him with girls from wits and he was not in the mood for that especially on his birth day that is why he left.
I knew that was rubbish or so I believe, but I decided to play damn like I said before I believe the truth  always has its way of coming out no matter what. A day after all this, I was not feeling well, left work early got home tuned on my TV and it was on SABC 3. I was just in time when Noeleen announced that after the brake the two of you will be discussing your relationship with Itumeleng Khune. Just when I heard this I felt sicker, I felt anxious, tears rolled down my face. I felt it in my blood that you were going to confess about your relationship with my man, the man I trusted with my life, the man I stood up over my friends and family, the man I chose to believe over everyone. The only man I have given my heart too. The man whom we set and spoke about our Future together. The man I could not imagine my life without.
At that moment I Wished somehow you will tell Noeleen that you are not dating Itu or the worst could be you dated and it didn’t work out, you both moved on but you still good friends (silly I know lol) but deep down I knew that was not going to happen and I was right.
I set and watched you declaring your love for each other. How you enjoyed your trip to BRAZIL. How happy both of you are. If I survived that day I can survive any difficulty brought my way. Never felt a pain so sharp that I ran out of breath. I hated you, I called you names and believe me if I knew where to find you that moment, I would have drove to you and I have no idea what would have happened when I got to you but I am glad and grateful I didn’t. This was the most difficult thing I have ever had to deal with in my life can’t compare the pain to anything not even losing my father because there, I had all the support and people to talk to. With this I was alone. I could not go back to the same people I kicked out of my life because I thought they had something against my good man, I even thought they were jealous of us. The people who tried to open my eyes and I was too blind to see everything that everyone else saw.
A Couple of days after, I came to my senses and realised that I had no one to blame. Not Itumeleng, not you but myself. I prayed about all this and I regained my strength not knowing I have another thing coming. Your birthday, A friend of mine sent me a picture of a CLS 500 that you posted on a social media and that rumours say you got it from ITU as a birthday present .I was back to square one deeply hurt honestly do not know why because I am not married to itu and what he does with his its none of my business.
To cut the long story short Sunday before he went to camp I called him and had a long talk about everything. He denied being in a relationship with you. He told me the Noeleen interview was a media stunt that he was not warned about. He told me that he can come where I was he will call you and put you on speaker so that we deal with this once and forever  but he was just saying that because he knows me well. He knew under no circumstances will I agree to such.
But all this made me realise I deserve better. This was a lesson to me it was either me or someone else. That Monday, I went and did HIV tests and I’m grateful I’m safe. My purpose for this letter is not to break you guys up because I have nothing to gain from that. I am done with ITUMELENG. I just felt a need of informing you what kind of person you dealing with what you do is purely up to you. If I didn’t write this letter to you I will feel like I found out I was HIV positive and didn’t inform you knowing exactly that we screwing the same man. I am glad that I am warning you about his cheating rather than if I was informing you that I tested HIV positive and I have no doubt it is from the same guy you screwing. I wish I can meet you and take to you personally but this have nothing to do with me no more. I am done with ITUMELENG. But should you feel a strong need that you want to meet tell yena u ITU to inform me because by the content of this letter he will know exactly who is it from.
Best Regards.

Kate Middleton & Prince William Announce Son's Name

Ever since his arrival on Monday (July 22), Royal baby watchers have all been eager to learn the name of the newborn Prince of Cambridge. And now we know.

Prince William and Kate Middleton chose the name George Alexander Louis for their little guy, with his official title listed as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.

Kensington Palace said in a short statement: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son George Alexander Louis. The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge."

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s moniker selection is thoughtful and strong, as George comes from the Greek for earth-worker or farmer, and Alexander means ‘protector of men.’ And of course, Louis means ‘famous in battle.’

Back in 1714 George I took over the British throne and there’s been six King Georges in Royal lineage so far. It sounds like Prince George of Cambridge will be lucky number seven!

Strictly Come Dancing Eliminations

It was a hectic night on the 6th Season of Strictly Come Dancing on SABC 3 last night as it proved that it doesn't matter whether you're popular or not when kwaito artist L'vovo Derrango and his pro partner Mary Martins were the first couple to be eliminated from the show.

For the first time, the elimination does not only rely on the judge's scores, but the viewers' votes as well – meaning that a couple who did not impress the technical-savvy judges could still go through to the next round based on viewer support.

Mary was also eliminated from MasterChef SA over on M-Net on the same night! Poor Soul.

On the SCD note, Eric Muyeni tweeted that Pabi Moloi was FAT, saying that shouldn't she be required to be less thin as she is the host of Strictly Come Dancing. This got into a full blow steam on Twitter as people were defending Pabi others saying Pabi is old enough to stand for each and that why is it a bad thing when Fat people are made fun of but it is not when jokes are made on other people e.g (Anele Mdoda's Gap, L-tido's Music) and others.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on SABC 3 Wednesdays from 20:00 to 22:00. Viewers can get talking about the show on Twitter using #SABC3Strictly.

Phresh Relationship Talk

Be you.
Nobody really wants a relationship with someone who doesn’t know themselves and isn’t comfortable within their own skin.  Get in touch with who you are at your core, and the build your life around it.

Be sincere, loving, respectful, trustworthy, humble and happy.
It’s hard to not be happy around people who honour these traits.  Sincerely be the person people want to be with.

Be forward focused.
Living in the past really does not get you anywhere, and it can make you miserable.  Live in the moment and focus on what you do want from your future.

Be independent.
Guys and girls like to have a partner in their life to complement it, not burden it.  Be the person that satisfies as many of your own needs as possible so that your partner is simply a friend to share your experiences with.

Be forgiving.
Everyone makes mistakes and the grass usually isn’t greener on the other side.  Get some perspective and realise that every relationship comes with challenges.  Carrying the negativity that comes with holding grudges is a sure fire way to create more problems in your relationship and feel miserable within yourself.

Be aware of your daily habits.
How you and your relationships evolve is dependent upon you and the choices you make.  Your daily habits, good and bad, are based on daily decisions you make which either enhance or damage your relationship.  Choose wisely.  The next tip is one such habit and it’s just a choice.

Be solution focused.
You will always encounter relationship problems; always looking for solutions puts you in an empowered emotional state and will help ensure you resolve issues rather than perpetuate your fears, concerns, anger, resentment, insecurities and health.  People either look at problems or look at solutions.  You know which one is most helpful.  Just pick the right one.

Be giving.
People bond with givers and people only stay in relationships with people they get something from, whether that’s laughter, emotional support, gestures of love, or something else.  That’s life.  If you’re not adding value to the people in your life, they may not be there forever.

Be a communicator.
Probably the single biggest reason for relationship breakdown, breakups and divorce, is lack of communication.  Over time, a lack of communication will completely unravel your relationship.  Make no mistake about it, communication is key.  Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind, sometimes you have to remember the other person isn’t psychic, and sometimes you have to care enough to speak up, even when you would rather not.

Be a good memories creator.
Your perception of your relationship with yourself and others is based on the associations you have created.  Create good memories with your partner, and if you only have miserable ones at the forefront of your mind, then you better crack on and replace them with good ones.  As Maya Angelou once: “People may not always remember what you did or said but they will always remember how you made them feel.”

Beyonce gets hair caught in concert fan

Beyonce has soldiered through a concert in Montreal after her hair got tangled in the blades of a fan.

The pop star was performing Halo from an audience pit when the incident happened.

She continued to sing her encore while security guards tried to extract her from the fan, which was mounted on the edge of the stage.

Several people caught the mishap on video and the singer later joked about it on her social media accounts.

She posted a handwritten note on Instagram reworking the lyrics to Halo to include the line: "Gravity can't begin to pull me out of the fan again."

The singer's Mrs Carter Show world tour, which began in Belgrade in April, runs until December.

Inflatable penguins
Beyonce is not the first star to suffer a Spinal Tap moment on stage.

U2 got stuck inside a giant mechanical Lemon during a Norwegian date of their PopMart tour in 1997.

Fleetwood Mac brought a 70ft (21.3m) inflatable penguin on the road in 1977, intending for it to rise from the back of the stage and fly over the audience.

"It would never fully inflate - it must have had leaks or something," Lindsey Buckingham later told Rolling Stone . "This thing was limping and floundering at the back of the stage. It never flew."

Mick Fleetwood added: "It was a disaster."

Meanwhile, Ozzy Osbourne came a cropper when a catapult malfunctioned during his 1981 Diary Of A Madman tour.

"This catapult was supposed to throw this meat into the audience," he told the magazine.

"Well, they'd been trying it out all day, so the elastic wasn't quite as strong during the show. I'm standing there, I put my foot on this lever and several pounds of offal slowly comes and splats on the back of my head."

Kelly Rowland - 'Dirty Laundry' (Music Video)

Can you say, "about time!"?. Kelly Rowland at last premieres the music video for her uber-emotional and personal The Dream-produced R&B ballad "Dirty Laundry", the latest single from K-Row's fourth studio album "Talk a Good Game". Watch above!

Directed by Sarah McColgan, the music video shows Kelly dining with her abusive (ex) boyfriend - and getting humiliated by him, sitting on a chair confessing the heart-rending lyrics of "Dirty Laundry" (being in Beyoncé's shadow and more), lying down in a pool of water and getting a 'steam'. A pretty simple, yet powerful visual. "Dirty Laundry" has to be one of Kelly Rowland's best song ever. She serves TRUTH in it, and fan's feedback can only be positive. "Dirty Laundry" will go for Rhythmic adds on US radios next July 29. Up, and only up on the charts Kelly's new single should go! It's only fair!

Watch Dirty Laundry Here

In other news, Kelly Rowland had to be rescued off the coast of Massachusetts over the weekend, after a private boat she was on became lost at sea, adrift in a salty ocean of self criticism, surrounded on all sides by black churning waters of regret. Actually, it was just in the regular sea. But it was hopelessly lost.

Happy Birthday Nelson Mandela

South Africa’s former President has turned 95 years today .

Mandela will however spend  his birthday in hospital in Pretoria, as events take place around the world and in South Africa in his honour.

South Africans are being urged to match the former president and anti-apartheid leader’s 67 years of public service with 67 minutes of charitable acts.

Today Mandela is also marking  15 years  of marriage with his wife  Graca Machel. During the last six weeks Machel has kept a near round-the-clock vigil at her husband’s hospital bedside, leaving to attend Mandela’s charity events or visit their Johannesburg home.

“We make sure we spend time with each other because we were so lonely before. You only live once,” she said

Machel married Mandela in 1998, 12 years after her first husband, Mozambique’s former president Samora Machel, died in a mysterious plane crash.

Meanwhile ,Mr Mandela, who is in critical but stable condition with a recurring lung infection is reported to be improving, according to the presidency.

“President Jacob Zuma wishes the founding father of the nation and first President of a united democratic South Africa, Mr Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, a happy 95th birthday. Madiba remains in hospital in Pretoria but his doctors have confirmed that his health is steadily improving.” said a statement from the presidency.

Phresh Entertainment wishes Mr Madiba a very happy birthday.

HAIBO! The Sophie Ndaba Drama

I was shocked when I read this. I thought Keith was a God-fearing man... A Pastor but his latest actions shock me...

Firstly he lashes out their (Him and Sophie) dirty laundry in Public. He says Sophie forced him to get circumcised. I am still wondering what he wants us to do with this Information. Why didn't he bring this to our attention earlier?? He has children for Goodness sake, he behaved in a childish manner and very stupid.

The pastor went on to get a restraining order against the Popular Actress known by her role as Queen Moroka on Generations. He later leaked the copy of the restraining order to Drum  Magazine. Shu..

Then if all was not bad he leaked this picture that he took of Sophie in 'happier times'. Shame Sir, Have you no shame? What kind of person behaves like this?

Converse. Get Out Of The Garage.

The hugely successful Get Out Of The Garage platform is back. Last year, 138 unsigned, local bands from a variety of genres submitted their demos to Converse via SoundCloud and YouTube links for the chance to record in New York and play at the iconic *100 Club in London. Matthew Mole was crowned the inaugural South African winner.

Converse is again on the hunt for unsigned talent to get out of the garage and be transported to the UK to play this epic venue later this year. Then the winner will be whipped off to New York to record at the **Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn. Whether you are a punk rocker, electro fundi, kickass proponent of kwaito, or a hip hop playa, Converse wants to hear your sound.

From the 9th of July until the 8th of August, visit Converse on Facebook and upload a SoundCloud version of your best track. Then on the 15th of August, judges Catherine Grenfell, Jon Savage, and Reason will have narrowed down the entries to SA’s Top 10 unsigned artists. Converse will then showcase these acts on Facebook, where South African music fans can vote for their favourite. Simply by voting, fans have a chance to join their favourite band VIP style to London for the gig.

Get Out Of The Garage, share your music and showcase your talent via the app at www.facebook.com/converse and be part of the conversation on Twitter @Converse_Africa with the #Play100Club hashtag. Phresh Sunday Talk

Posh Oh My Gosh!

Poor Samkelo Ndlovu (No Pun intended.) The actress had twitter attacking her like mad when she wore the same dress she had worn 2 years ago at the Metro Awards at the Durban July this saturday. The young girl was posting pictures on Twitter when someone noticed! Ouch! BTW She will be joining Rhythm City as Fats's Cousin this July.

Pearl Thusi and RGB Part ways Bye Pearl Thusi! The Presenter, Actress, Model and among other things was fired from the show according to Move Magazine. Pearl confirmed this by tweeting RGB that she was grateful for the experience. Then she tweeted something about Move Magazine being determined to see her fail and how they will 'Move' onto someone else. Iyho

Dj Sbu Shut up Please! The respect I have for this man is slowly dying. He recently tweeted about people not loving Black Coffee for his music but in Awe of what he can do with one hand. Sir, that was out of line. You always 'preach' about Respect on Friends Like These yet you do not show it to others

Isolezwe though! The shadiest newspaper in South Africa! After being nominated for the BET awards, Toya Delazy and Donald lost to Ice Prince and Isolezwe had to Publish a story that had a headline "Ababuyanga nalutho" meaning they returned with nothing. Tjo!

The auditions for Africa's Next Top Model have begun. Started in Mozambique this Saturday, the show will be Hosted by Nigerian-born Model Oluchi Orlandi who will be filling in the shoes of Tyra Banks as producer and Mentor.

Oops! RGB fires Pearl Thusi

Iyoh! Move magazine recently revealed that the show had fired Pearl Thusi better known as The Real Black Pearl.

According to move she is being exed because of how she treats the back stage staff, looking down on them. She is also said to be leaking wrong gossip on Air and she has violated contract clauses.

She is also doing contracts outside the SABC which is not prohibited. She's also always later for shoots and the crew always complains and they also have to always reschedule because of her impunctuality which is expensive forthem. Sometimes she doesn't even bother coming. [Even the Isidingo crew is complaining].

When ask about this Pearl Thusi said we will found out tonight.

Suprisingly this comes after an Open Letter to Pearl Thusi. Iyho!

Kenny Kunene investigated for Fraud

The investigation emanates from Kunene's dealings with investors who claim to have been conned into supporting an application for mining rights by Central Rand Gold (CRG). Kunene was CRG's community liaison, and was instrumental in securing the rights.

For almost 10 days Sunday World, asking for updates on the 2012 investigation, has been shunted from pillar to post by the Hawks. No information was forthcoming.

But Sunday World established on Friday that an investigation is being coordinated from the office of Brigadier Lesley McFinn, of the Gauteng Hawks.

"It is there with 1 000 others," said a source close to the probe.

Yesterday Hawks spokesperson Paul Ramoloko said: "I can neither confirm nor deny that there is an investigation.

"In any case, it is not our policy to discuss cases that are not yet ready for court."

Last year our sister newspaper, the Sunday Times, reported that CRG had allegedly misled investors with lucrative tenders, share offers and directorships in an attempt to secure their backing.

The Sunday Times based its story on a forensic report and other company documents.

In March last year, then Hawks spokesman McIntosh Polela confirmed the investigation to the Mail and Guardian: "We have done an investigation.

"However, our protocol doesn't allow us to give updates on ongoing investigations."

CRG raised more than R1bn but spent it in three years - without producing any gold.

It was reported that community stakeholders who had been told that they would benefit from CRG's operations were incensed when they learned that Kunene and his prison friend and business partner, Gayton McKenzie, paid themselves salaries of R243000 and R150000 a month respectively, and a bonus of R4m for securing the mining rights.

Kunene and McKenzie convened public meetings in 2007 in Roodepoort, Bosmont, Riverlea and Fleurhof and the Soweto suburbs of Orlando East, Orlando West, Diepkloof and Meadowlands.

At these meetings residents were promised shares, jobs and business opportunities - but few benefited, the newspaper reported.

Facebook slowly becoming the New Twitter

Both are one of the best Social Networks ever. Facebook having 'more' users than Twitter but recent changes done by Facebook shock me.

You will remember when Facebook introduced the 'Cover Photo' Twitter already had the 'Header.'
Rihanna's profile on Twitter showing her Header

Rihanna's page on Facebook showing her Cover Photo

Facebook did not sop there. They went to introduce the 'Timeline' knowing Twitter had a 'Timeline. They also introduced the 'Share button' which is similar to Twitter's 'Retweet' button. Then Facebook Introduced Followers and Twitter had 'Followers'
Twitter image showing Rihanna's Followers

Shame to the people who thought that was enough, Facebook introduced 'Verified' Pages. This was done by Twitter a long time ago, verifying real accounts of celebs. [Did they have to do it in Blue?]

Even myself I thought that was Enough... Until Facebook introduced #Hashtags which have been on Twitter like FOREVER!
