Snoop Lion Lands in mzansi

When American rapper, singer-songwriter Snoop Dogg landed in Durban just before 9pm last night, he was a changed person - in more ways than one - from his previous visit to the country.

Formerly Snoop Dogg, the multi-million record selling rapper now goes by the name of Snoop Lion, following his recent transition from rap to reggae lion sound.

South African fans will get a taste of his new sound when he takes to the stage at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban Saturday night.

Real name Calvin Broadus, Snoop Lion is headlining the first ever MTV Africa All Stars event with a range of local and other African artists from around the continent including Zahara, MiCasa, Fally Ipupa, D'Banj and Professor.

He's also scheduled to perform in two more concerts at Johannesburg's Ellis Park Arena on Sunday and Cape Town's Grand West Casino next Tuesday.

According to a reliable source, the "Drop It Like It's Hot" hit maker will be staying at the lush Beverly Hills Hotel in Umhlanga Rocks for the duration of his visit to Durban.

Durban fans can grab a ticket at Computicket for as little as R40, while tickets for both Joburg and Cape Town range from a massive R350 to R650.
